His older brothers, Mark and David, were competing in the Busch Series in 1990 when Jeff got his first start. He finished 22nd at Richmond.
In 1994, he made his first three Cup starts and in 1995, finished fifth in the final Busch Series point standings.
Green turned his attention toward the Cup Series in 1997 and 1998, but in 1997, he posted six top-fives and seven top-10s, along with his first win at Las Vegas. So he went back to the Busch Series full time in 1999, ending the season second in points. And in 2000, he won the Busch title by more than 600 points, a record that wasn’t broken until 2006.
In 2006, Green joined Haas CNC Racing.
