| | By David Griffin / SceneDaily.com BRISTOL, TN -- Richard Childress Racing’s Clint Bowyer clocked in quickest during Saturday’s final and only NASCAR Nationwide Series practice at Bristol Motor Speedway with a lap of 121.813 mph.
The second fastest time belonged to Mike Bliss (Fitz Motorsports) at 121.798 mph followed by Steve Wallace (Rusty Wallace Racing) at 121.705 mph.
Kyle Busch (Braun Racing) and David Ragan (Roush Fenway Racing) rounded out the top five fastest speeds. Sixth through 10th were Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing), Stanton Barrett (SKI Motorsports), Kasey Kahne (Gillett Evernham Motorsports), Jason Keller (CJM Racing) and Kevin Harvick (Kevin Harvick Inc.).
David Stremme (Rusty Wallace Racing) spun but made no contact during the session while Bryan Clauson (Chip Ganassi Racing) wrecked in Turn 1 and had to go to a backup car. He was scheduled to start 23rd but will move to the rear of the field at the start of the race.
Jeff Fuller replaced Robert Richardson in the Jay Robinson Racing No. 4 entry but Richardson will compete in the race. Fuller, though, might replace JRR driver Brian Keselowski, who struggled in practice driving the No. 28 car.
Qualifying originally was scheduled for Saturday, but rain Friday forced NASCAR to cancel qualifying and have a 90-minute practice Saturday morning.
RCR's Scott Wimmer is on the pole by virtue of last year’s owner’s points standings for today's Sharpie Mini 300. Hamlin will start second.
Television coverage is set to begin at 2 p.m. EDT with the race scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
