| | By SceneDaily Staff AVONDALE, AZ -- While teammate Kyle Petty missed the race at Phoenix International Raceway, Bobby Labonte turned in his third finish of 12th or better this season.
Labonte finished 12th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race Saturday night – the top finish among Dodge drivers – boosting him one spot in the standings to 20th in the drivers standings.
Labonte said that his team fought the handling on his Petty Enterprises Dodge all evening and that he felt somewhat lucky to have earned the finish.
“We just didn’t do the best job that we could do,” he said. “We came here and tested and were awful. For us to finish 16th …we had fuel mileage there at the end. We had a lot of things going against us tonight but I’ll take it.”
